How will my order be shipped?

Small packages are usually delivered by United Parcel Service (UPS) or Federal Express (Fedex). Larger items will be shipped by truck or common carrier. Although we are not able to pre-arrange delivery on a specific day or at a specific time, we will notify the common carrier to contact you prior to delivery. Common carrier shipments are curbside deliveries. In some cases white-glove service is available for an additional cost.

Please make arrangements to assist with unloading at the time of delivery. We must know which models and how many of each model you wish to purchase in order to quote delivery charges. An in-house delivery can be arranged on some furniture and appliance shipments. Quotes on the cost of the in-house delivery service are available when you place your order.

When do I pay for shipping?

Shipping and handling charges are quoted during the ordering process and ONLY cover ground shipment within the continental 48 states. Your order can only be shipped freight prepaid, no third party shipping normally. Should the carrier request payment for a freight shipment in error, please contact us immediately. We can also offer on most products overnight, 2nd day or 3rd day courier service, but they are very expensive compared to ground. Call 1-312-602-2652 if you require this option.

Shipping outside the continental US, or to Alaska or Hawaii:

We normally ship orders only to a valid US street address in the continental 48 United States. If you have a US mailing address, the price we charge for the order created online will apply. For all other destinations, ADDITIONAL POSTAGE OR FREIGHT IS REQUIRED ABOVE THE INITITAL ORDER TOTAL calculated on the website. We can ship most items anywhere in the world with our "one-stop" ship international or non-mainland forwarding through our California facilities. However, it will require an additional charge to cover the Airmail Postage from California (ZIP 93611) to your country. The cost to get it TO OUR OFFICE is calculated when selecting "SHIP OUTSIDE THE US" option from the pull down menu when ordering. The cost of shipping internationally is OVER AND ABOVE that cost.

BE AWARE, the Post Office WILL NOT accept any items greater than 70 pounds shipping weight. In addition, Express Mail must be less than 108 inches maximum girth. Finally, many large dimension bulky items, plus certain chemical and HAZMAT products, are also NOT shippable through the Post Office.

From our California office, we can also use YOUR corporate FedEx or UPS account to ship it to your country, but we will need faxed authorization on company letterhead to use this method. Alternately, if you prefer the postal option (cheaper but a bit slower), we will use the EMS service of the Post Office, which normally is 5-7 days. We cannot quote an exact price or delivery date as it depends on weight, dimensions, location, and type of service. We DO NOT mark up this postage cost, merely charge your card exactly what the post office charges us. You can go to www.usps.com site and calculate an "estimated shipping" from ZIP 93611 in the US to your country. Be aware, this is only a rough estimate. You must enter dimensions as well to get a good estimated cost. We insure the shipment and pay for a tracking number, which also adds a bit to the net postage cost. Normally this roughly 5-7 day air is by far the most cost effective choice. It is always less than FedEx or UPS. We DO NOT do "ocean" or "surface" shipping because of the long delay and the rough handling history we have experienced.

If you have a US ship-to address, that always works best. However, we are willing to use YOUR courier account as described above, but you are liable for all charges. If you are willing to pay this additional postage or courier, please call me at 1-312-602-2652 or email me at president@dreamretail.com confirming acceptance after placing your order, ALONG WITH the credit card information you want the postage charged to (card, expiry, and security code).

What should I do when my order is delivered?

Inspect the order immediately. Do not sign for the merchandise until you inspect for damage. If a shipment arrives with apparent damage sign the freight bill "With Exception" and note which pieces are damaged. Accept the shipment, call the trucking company to report the damage, and call our customer service number immediately for further assistance. Open the cartons and completely inspect your order. If you find concealed damage:

1. Notify the trucking company or UPS immediately. (No more than six (6) hours after receipt of shipment).

2. Call our office to report the damage and for further assistance. We will assist you in settling your claim as expeditiously as possible.

3. If possible do not unpack or move the cartons.

4. Save all packing materials, cartons, etc. for inspection.

If the above procedures are followed, the damaged pieces will be replaced or repaired at no cost to you. We cannot be responsible for delivery damage if said damage is not reported to the trucking company and our office within six (6) hours of the delivery.

PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU PICK UP YOUR ORDER FROM THE CARRIER'S TERMINAL, YOU MUST INSPECT THE ORDER AND NOTE ANY DAMAGE ON THE FREIGHT BILL BEFORE LEAVING THE TERMINAL.
